Day 1
Today is the first day of my internship at BR. I am over excited about this internship as I have been looking forward to undergo internship ever since I first started my degree course. Although I had previously worked as a part timer in several places, I am still nervous and excited at the same time. This is because this internship experience is considered as my first time experience working in accounting related field.

Since today is my first day of internship, I had arrived 30 minutes earlier at my workplace in order to give myself extra time to familiarize with the working area. When the clock strikes at 8am, my supervisor, Ms Linda brought me to a meeting room and briefed me about the company’s background and the basic rules when working with BR. After the briefing, she brought me to tour around my respective department, which is the accounting department. During the tour, she also introduces me with the sections located inside the company. Thereafter, she brought me to my working station and introduced me with people in the company. At the moment, I started to adore them as they are very nice and friendly. I was appointed a seat beside a Taylor’s student called Chong Yu Hong, who is also having an internship with me. Both of us self-introduced to each other and we realized that we are actually staying in the same area, Sri Petaling. Due to the limitation of parking lots in this area, we had planned to carpool by going to the company together. This planning will benefits both of us as we can save up time and costs.

During lunch time, Dato’ Kamah, one of the BR board of directors has invited me and Yu Hong to have a lunch. While we were having lunch, Dato’ Kamah did share with us about his 20 years experiences in the quarry industry and the history of the company. On the other side, we also shared our experiences and study life at Taylor’s University to Dato’ Kamah. All in all, we had a wonderful time with Dato’ Kamah and I felt fortunate to have this opportunity to build network with talented person like Dato’ Kamah.
In my view, punctuality and responsibility are important in working as an intern in BR. In order to meet assignment deadlines, I need to make a planner to organize my work appropriately. Besides, I need to approach my supervisor whenever I faced difficulties in works so that the problem faced will not be accumulated. Moreover, I need to have a positive working attitude as I am a student who representing Taylor’s University to do internship at BR. Therefore, I can keep up a good impression for my employers.
